LePage lists transition donors Politics Bangor Daily News BDN Maine
AUGUSTA, Maine Businesses, individuals, health providers and industry groups are among the donors appearing on the Web page of Maine Gov. Paul LePage's transition organization.
The listing, which became public within the last day, shows 228 contributors to the newly elected Republican governor's transition, including his inauguration and reception. Those events reportedly cost a little more than $100,000 but the final total still is being worked out.
LePage's transition accepted nontax deductible donations of no more than $9,500 to help fund the professional staff and overhead needed to manage the orderly transfer of power and the inaugural activities. No taxpayer dollars were accepted.
Among the donors were Marden's discount stores, LePage's former employer; electric utility owner Iberdrola USA; Mainebased banks and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
